Saving Mr. Banks tells the story of Walt Disney’s 18-year quest to make Mary Poppins. This DVD tour of the Disney lot conducted by Saving Mr. Banks director John Lee Hancock, takes viewers on a journey back to the time when the actual events depicted in the movie take place. Some things have changed, but a surprising number of the original stages and offices where Mary Poppins was conceived and produced still exist. The tour includes some flashbacks to Walt Disney himself and a sentimental conversation with one of the composers of the unforgettable songs in Mary Poppins, Richard Sherman.
