“Do you think the episodes are really shot over a year ago? If so, you're an idiot. Movies have faster turnover than that.

Buried as inaccurate..
They are awesome bears, but they do not rely on salmon as 100% of their diet. Most northern bears eat a ton or grass, clover and other legumes, and a ton of berries. There is also a large population of black tailed deer on the islands they are on.!

This story seems to share elements w/ the Jeffrey Dahmer story. Bad smells don't seem to be enough. About 20 years ago, a little old lady who ran a boarding house for seniors in San Francisco was killing her tenants, burying them under her rose garden and collecting their SS checks. Neighbors complained bitterly about the smell of her yard, health inspectors came by, etc. She would say, "Oh that's the fish emulsion that I use to fertilize my roses. Aren't they pretty?" If she'd planted more lavendar and night blooming jasmine, she might have gotten away with it. I think the fellow who dugg this story just wanted to bring it to the attention of his fellow Diggers. Let's put aside assumptions, etc. I digg stories that I think are awful sometimes because I want the community to see them. I've only voted to bury 2 stories since I've signed up. I appreciate the fact that the person who voted to bury this story provided a rationale for that. Very honest. Most Diggers are honest and forthright people. Remember, even though it's virtual, we are a community!

Well, this is just a part of the learning process for them, because their fathers will now sit them down at the vineyard where they summer and explain to them that they went about defusing the situation all wrong. As any of the elite and powerful know, you don't just interfere with supply of news, you must *become* the supplier of news.As I'm sure, one father will interject, "Son, me and my buddies don't have to worry about people discovering unpleasant or embarrassing news on us because instead of trying to remove the stories, we own the news outlets and we simply remove the investigators and reporters and we pay actors to just rehash and read AP wire stories, fluff pieces, sports, and of course our very own corporate propaganda..." with one last sip from his martini and a pull from his cigar he finishes, "...let me get you a meeting with my dear friend Rupert Murdoch so he can explain the process in greater detail..."

I know it's not one guy, but I've always been partial to the Chosin Reservoir campaign of the Korean war. In the coldest winter in Korean history (consistently 20 below,) and outfitted only in rain jackets, the Marine Corps first division was advancing to the Chinese border as quickly as possible. Unknown to the Americans, the entire Chinese 9th army (led by Long March veterans no less) had crossed the Yalu in October. U.S. army resistance dissolved under attack and the marines were surrounded and outnumbered about at roughly 10-1. Despite that, they managed to fight their way out and through the casualties they inflicted managed to keep the 9th army from dramatically altering the outcome of the war. |
